An established accounting firm servicing a Chinese client base is looking for a highly accurate and detail-oriented Full Function Accountant to join their Johannesburg North team. This role is suited to a hands-on finance professional who can manage the full accounting function, including tax compliance, financial reporting, and audit support, within a structured and deadline-driven environment. The position requires a meticulous individual with strong numerical ability, capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and client service
Minimum Requirements:
BCom Degree (Completed)
Completed SAICA articles
3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role
Experience within construction and/or logistics industries (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Deadline-driven with ability to work under pressure
Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Good communication skills (internal and client-facing)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential)
Proficiency in MS Office
Experience with Sage Business Cloud Accounting and Sage Payroll
Familiarity with SARS eFiling functions
Experience using Draftworx
Be willing to work overtime hours as and when needed
Duties and Responsibilities:
Full accounts payable and accounts receivable function
Inventory and cashbook management
Maintain and manage general ledger accounts
Maintain Fixed Asset Register
Compile monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement
Perform tax functions including Income Tax, VAT, and PAYE submissions and payments
Handle SARS queries and correspondence
Full bookkeeping up to trial balance (including VAT reconciliations and submissions)
Prepare IFRS for SMEs financial statements
Manage and oversee junior bookkeeping staff
Full payroll function including PAYE reconciliations and submissions
Manage external audits and resolve audit queries
Perform company secretarial duties
Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and special projects as required
