Employer: Tumaini Consulting

Our client specialises in the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Their projects power manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, retail centres, estates, and large-scale industrial operations — delivering resilient energy infrastructure in a rapidly evolving market. As their project pipeline expands, they are looking for a Senior Project Design Engineer to lead the technical design of high-impact renewable energy projects.

Requirements:

· 5 – 10 years experience in Solar PV, hybrid, or BESS design and integration

· Education: BEng/ BSc/ BTech Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical Engineering

· Experience working on C&I or small IPP projects within EPC or Developer environments

· Understanding of utility interconnection and grid code compliance processes

· ECSA registration or working towards registration

· Proficient in Pvsyst, ETAP/ DIgSILENT, AutoCAD

Responsibilities:

· Lead full lifecycle design of Solar PV and BESS projects (C&I and utility-scale)

· Perform system sizing, yield modelling, and performance optimisation

· Develop single-line diagrams, plant layouts, and detailed technical specifications

· Conduct grid connection studies and utility coordination

· Evaluate equipment and support procurement with technical due diligence
