Purpose of the job

The incumbent is responsible to undertake machining of components and parts on driven machinery in accordance with company  standards and specification.

 
Main tasks and responsibilities (NOT LIMITED TO)

Ensure quality standards and engineering standards are conformed to in accordance with engineering drawings.
Ensure product is compliant with company and Customer specific quality and engineering standards
Be able to work independently and make decisions in conjunction with the supervisor regarding tooling, jigs and fixtures.
Pre and final machining of components in accordance with specifications.
Follow departmental standards, both written and verbal.
Fully inspect work done according to specific requirements.
Read, analyze, understand, and follow engineering drawings
Read, understand, and follow instructions given on the production order.
Use specific engineering measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier’s etc.
Operate different machines, follow the safety standards, and use guards where applicable.
Any other reasonable work instructions to be followed.
