Plant Foreman – MiningMiddelburg - KomatipoortOur client, a mining Rewash Bay in the Komatipoort area is seeking to employ a Plant foreman to join their team

Ensure timely and systematic production of coal in the processing plant.
- Ensure the plant is adequately capacitated with resources to meet daily production targets
- Routinely monitor the quality of processed coal to ensure it meets required specifications
- Provide processing (risks, issues and general) feedback to the shift staff, including reporting from previous shifts
- Develop daily working plan (i.e. material to be washed, expected densities and qualities) and ensure shift staff execute efficiently
- Attend goal alignment meeting with the plant manager (previous shift issues, discuss potential plant, troubleshoot breakdown root causes, track plant throughput and draft revised action plans to reach targets)
- Escalate issues that cannot be resolved in processing to the engineering team
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement plans to increase plant efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Continuously track performance of the plant by running thorough inspections to ensure the plant runs efficiently
- Ensure the team meets the plant’s daily production targets & consumables target
- Ensure all consumables utilised are per allocations and there is adequate supply of (magnetite and flocculants)
- Plan maintenance schedule for processing (including plant shutdown periods)
Drive Effective problem solving and continuous improvement
- Through regular troubleshooting, identify and manage problems, escalated problems and operational risks
- Identify cost effective ways to improve plant operations and processes and increase efficiencies
Safety and compliance
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols for all plant workers
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for plant staff
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards, including waste management and emissions control
- Respond to emergencies, such as equipment failures or safety incidents, and coordinate with emergency response teams as needed.
 
Contractor Management
- Inspect the work performed by contractors and ensure it meets  safety and quality standards
- Instruct contractors to correct any defects and problems that may have been identified. Finance
Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies
- Explore and highlight opportunities for cost reduction - make recommendations on the most cost-effective way to perform work and to streamline processes
- Use systems optimally for data management and give input for system improvement and streamlining
- Ensure financial documentation is maintained to support accurate record keeping and future requirements as per legislation
- Escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs or financial losses
Main Requirements
Grade 12 certificate
Coal Prep certificate
Valid Driver’s License
