NOC Engineer / IT Support Engineer (L2–L3) Multiple Openings

360 Smart Networks is hiring multiple NOC Engineers / IT Support Engineers to join our South African team. These roles suit strong troubleshooters who thrive in a fast-paced MSP environment and want to deepen their skills across Microsoft 365, Azure, security, and modern endpoint management.
You’ll work with a global support team, handling escalations, complex incidents, and proactive operations, while contributing to secure, scalable client environments.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Own support tickets end-to-end: triage, troubleshooting and resolution, with clear notes, customer updates, and clean closure.
- Provide remote support across Windows endpoints, servers, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
- Administer identity and access systems (e.g., Entra ID / Active Directory, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC).
- Support endpoint security and management (e.g., Intune, baselines, patching, device compliance).
- Investigate, contain, and escalate security-related alerts/incidents (phishing, risky sign-ins, endpoint detections, suspicious activity).
- Assist with networking fundamentals: LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewall rules, troubleshooting connectivity and performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation: configurations, SOPs, network diagrams, and client environment notes.
- Collaborate with vendors/engineers and contribute to service quality through continuous improvement
Work Details
- Location: Office-based (shift dependent) Stellenbosch, Western Cape
- Shifts: Multiple time slots available - coverage varies by role
• 08:00 – 17:00
• 12:00 – 21:00
• 15:00 – 00:00 - Start date: ASAP / based on notice period

Required Skills
- Server Support: 5 to 6 years
- Desktop Infrastructure Support: 5 to 6 years
- Cloud Infrastructure Support: 3 to 4 years
- Support/Projects Experience: 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
What We’re Looking For (Required Skills)
Technical Core
- Strong Windows support skills (Windows 10/11), troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Server fundamentals (Windows Server 2016+ / 2019+ / 2022 / 2025)
- Identity: Active Directory / Entra ID, Group Policy, user lifecycle, permissions
- Microsoft stack support: M365 admin, Exchange/Teams/SharePoint basics, Azure fundamentals
- Networking fundamentals: DNS/DHCP, routing concepts, VPNs, firewall basics
- Security fundamentals: MFA, least privilege, patching, EDR awareness, secure configuration mindset
- Basic scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred)
Experience (Flexible by Level)
We’re hiring across more than one level/time slot, so experience may vary:
- IT Support Engineer (L2): typically 3–5 years in service desk/MSP support
- NOC / Senior Support (L3): typically 5+ years with escalation ownership and server/cloud depth
Mandatory Requirements
- South African citizen or permanent resident (required)
- Clear criminal record (background checks apply)
- Reliable transport and valid driver’s license
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Nice to Have (Highly Beneficial)
- Intune / Autopilot / Modern workplace (MDM/MAM)
- Microsoft Defender (Endpoint / Office 365) exposure
- Azure: VM basics, storage, networking, Azure AD/Entra integrations
- Monitoring/RMM tools (NOC tooling), alert tuning, operational runbooks
- Ticketing platforms (e.g., Connect Wise, ServiceNow, Jira, Autotask, Freshservice)
- ITIL foundations and strong documentation habits
Certifications
(Certs are a plus or equivalent experience welcomed.)
- CompTIA A+ / Network+ (or equivalent)
- Security+ (or actively pursuing)
- MCSE / MCITP (or equivalent )
- Microsoft role-based certs preferred:
- AZ-900 (Fundamentals) / AZ-104 (Azure Administrator)
- MS-900 / MS-102 (Microsoft 365)
- SC-900 / SC-200 / SC-300 (Security / SOC / Identity)
- MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator)
