General Process
Lead tactical direction settling and plan for the business area in alignment to the company’s strategy
Lead the implementation of Nasonti and Engineering strategy, plans, policy and group’s standards against target and timelines
Prioritise project and departmental scheduling and delivery to tactical and strategic business objectives (mining, engineering, property management, water services, facility management etc, i.e.,)
Provide technical advice, support and oversight for engineering excellence across departments
Lead asset management, maintenance and availability
Provide leadership, support and guidance to managers to ensure success delivery
Drive alignment, collaboration and synergy between the business various departments
Develop and maintain policies, standards and procedures for engineering
Coordinate and integrate activities across areas of responsibility (per legal appointment standards)
Design, establish and embed efficient Engineering and Maintenance structures, plans and governance structures
Promote related proposals, communication, services, providers, projects, budgets, resourcing and change management
Support and guide all workstreams to ensure successful operational launches
Define, establish and utilise an efficient and effective knowledge capture processes, tooling and reporting
Drive continuous improvement and manage operational risks
Identify innovative ways to improve business practices, processes and synergies to increase revenue, efficiencies or effectiveness
Identify, report and comment on key technical issues, risks and opportunities for value-add within areas of expertise and impact
Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
Stakeholder Relationships
Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
Build professional long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Investigate and understand stakeholders needs to enable delivery of a quality service
Ensure customer service solutions are aligned to the operational business plan
Ensure product knowledge and advice is technically accurate and provide stakeholders with relevant information to keep them informed of products and service options
Ensure timeous resolution of stakeholder queries and complaints and take ownership of issues
Manage a division that builds people and creates an inclusive work environment
Clearly define goals and objectives and provide direction, coaching and regular feedback
Ensure performance contracts are implemented and that performance reviews are conducted
Ensure timesheets, leave, and travel requests are submitted and approved timeously
Ensure compliance with all HR policies, procedures and standards
Ensure conflict resolution and respond to any complaints or concerns
Support skills development and transfer initiatives
Ensure that all team members are competent to deliver the outputs of their jobs within a specified time after being appointed in the position
Ensure knowledge transfer amongst peers
Main Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Additional management degree Knowledge Required Level Mining legislation Labour relations
On-surface mining Business knowledge and acumen
Advanced Technical Skill – Ability to apply Knowledge Level of Proficiency
Understanding technical matters In-depth knowledge and experience across the mining industry
