Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Sales Management or relevant qualification
Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in sales, advertising or marketing
Post graduate degree in relevant field
- FMCG or Retail industry experience
- Deliver on the set fiscal sales business targets.
- Seek new client base through business development strategies.
- Present on sales presentations to potential clients.
- Manage the sales process and relationship, both internally and externally in ways that focus on achieving the assigned business targets.
- Act as a lead point of contact for all clients.
- Handle and manage multiple clients’ accounts.
- Maintain existing clients base to ensure clients are satisfied.
- Resolve clients' queries in an effective and respectful way Track purchase orders and contracts.
- Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs and requests.
- Track and manage changes in projects, schedules and costs.
- Formulate and implement account development plans.
- Identify, coordinate, and execute value added projects linked to our clients’ needs and ensuring value
creation and delivery to the clients. - Monitor performance of portfolios and provide feedback to management
- Keep abreast of industry and market trend and ensure best practice is applied.
- Build rapport with stakeholders in the business and raise any issues that need to be addressed.
- Expand relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet favourable
objectives. - Develop and sustain solid relationships with clients that bring in most income for the business.
- Resolve issues and problems faced by client and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
- Provide status reports and escalate to management as needed.
- Track and report on key sales on the Handl booking platform.
- Proven track record of effective management of sales, meeting and increasing sales
budgets - Knowledge of the point-of-sale industry
- Computer literacy & ability to operate a smartphone - Microsoft 365, Email

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ has an opportunity available for a Key Account Manager to join the Dis-Chem Media Team in Durban. The purpose of the role is to create long term and trusting relationships with clients by overseeing a portfolio of assigned clients, develop new business from existing clients and new sales opportunities within the retail market by providing specialized services.
