We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join our client’s Cape Town office. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to enterprise-level projects within a collaborative, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and backend services

·        Participate in full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support

·        Build scalable, high-performance systems using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related frameworks

·        Integrate with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and external APIs

·        Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards

·        Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and Product Management

·        Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

·        Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Requirements:

·        8+ years of professional experience in Java development

·        Strong experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework

·        Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

·        Relational database experience (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

·        Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git

·        Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

·        Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage

·        Unit testing and test-driven development experience
