About the Role
We’re seeking a commercially minded, goal-oriented, and ambitious mid-level Media Sales Account Manager to join our dynamic team. This role requires a professional, client-centric approach in all interactions and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
This position focuses on digital media advertising across multiple platforms, including digital publications, web banners, and newsletter banners.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Digital media sales
Drive digital media revenue by selling integrated advertising solutions across multiple platforms, including digital publications, web banners, and newsletter banners.
Deliver measurable, value-driven results for clients.
Proven track record in achieving and exceeding digital sales targets.
Strong client-centric ethos
A consultative sales approach.
Engage and build relationships with C-level executives, marketing directors, agencies, and key decision-makers.
Maintain long-term strategic partnerships that drive repeat business and revenue growth.
New Business Development
Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
Continuously generate and convert new revenue streams.
Target Achievement
Consistently meet or exceed individual and team revenue targets.
Performance-driven mindset with measurable results.
Strategic Proposal Development
Independently create professional, strategic, and compelling client proposals.
Tailor proposals to client objectives, budgets, and market positioning.

Full Account Management
Manage the complete sales lifecycle: prospecting, pitching, onboarding, campaign execution, reporting, renewals, and upselling.
Take full ownership of client accounts.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with editorial, production, and design teams to ensure seamless campaign execution.
Ensure internal alignment and delivery within agreed timelines.
Campaign Briefing & Oversight
Provide clear, detailed campaign briefs to the creative team.
Oversee execution to ensure alignment with strategy, brand standards, and deadlines.
Digital Proficiency (Mandatory)
Conduct professional virtual meetings and presentations.
Competently manage CRM systems for pipeline tracking, reporting, and performance management.
Event Representation (Mandatory)
Represent the brand at launches, networking functions, and industry events.
Actively generate new leads and business opportunities through event participation.

Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
Minimum 5+ years of B2B media sales experience at a mid-level.
NQF Level 5 qualification in sales, marketing, or equivalent. - Advantageous
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets (IRP5’s required as evidence).
Experience working with Corporates Media, Ad agencies, and PR firms.
Prior experience selling digital advertising in publications, web banners, and newsletters.
Strong understanding of digital media sales strategies and performance metrics.
Client-centric ethos with consultative sales approach – non-negotiable.
Must reside in Cape Town – non-negotiable.
In-office position only – non-negotiable.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Core Sales Skills
Prospecting and Pipeline Management: Identifying potential customers and nurturing them through the sales funnel.
Closing Techniques: The ability to effectively finalize a deal and move the buyer to commitment.
Negotiation: Handling objections, negotiating terms, and reaching mutually beneficial agreements.
CRM Proficiency: Maintaining updated, organized records of customer interactions and data, as suggested in.
Strategic Prospecting/Research: Utilizing research to understand buyer trends, industry pain points, and competitor activity.
Goal Setting and Forecasting: Setting and meeting personal and team sales quotas.
Digital & Technical
Digital Publishing knowledge
Digitally savvy with working knowledge of LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook
Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams – non negotiable.
Comfortable with virtual client engagement and online presentations.
Understanding of Google analytic metrics
