🧾 Job DescriptionRole Overview:We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team on a remote game reserve. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across the reserve, including lodges, staff accommodation, operational facilities, and infrastructure. This role requires someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a bush environment with limited supervision.Key Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment across the reserveConduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructureTroubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective solutionsMaintain power supply systems, including generators, solar systems, and backup power solutionsEnsure all work complies with safety standards and electrical regulationsMaintain lighting systems, water pumps, electric fences, and lodge facilitiesAssist with energy efficiency initiatives and system upgradesKeep accurate maintenance records and report on system performanceWork closely with maintenance, operations, and lodge teamsRespond to emergency breakdowns and after-hours call-outs when required

Work Environment:

• Outdoor and indoor work in varying weather conditions
• Interaction with wildlife (adherence to safety protocols is essential)
• May be required to live on-site
📋 Job Specification
Minimum Requirements:

• Trade-tested Electrician (Red Seal or equivalent qualification)
• Valid Wireman’s License (advantageous)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Electrician
• Experience working with generators, solar systems, and/or off-grid electrical setups
• Valid driver’s license
Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and repairs
• Experience with solar energy systems, inverters, and battery storage (highly advantageous)
• Understanding of health and safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and record-keeping
