We are seeking an experienced Senior Trader for managing trading operations, analyse market trends to maximise profitability and ensure efficient supply chain management of wool & mohair.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness or Business Administration
• Certified Wool Classer Certificate from a recognised institution
• 3-5 years’ experience in an agricultural Trading environment of Fibre production, wool & mohair supply chains and logistics management
• Valid driver's license

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of international fibre markets, pricing, market trends and export procedures
• Strong financial, analytical, operational acumen
• Knowledge of BKB systems, Cape Wools SA and IWTO testing standards
• Knowledge of wool & mohair grading systems and market structure
• Good communication, decision making, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship management skills
• Attention to detail, financial and cost analysis skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor market trends, supply and demand in the wool & mohair industry
• Source and procure wool & mohair from farmers, cooperatives and auctions
• Oversee quality inspections, grading of wool & mohair and proper record keeping
• Maintain relationships with local and international buyers
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies
