SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES – E-INNOVATION

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1,071,429 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: LIB 09/26 ● LIS HEAD OFFICE, NDABENI

Requirements:  

• A relevant B degree 
• Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience of which two (2) years must be at a senior level
• Some experience of public library services will be beneficial
• Extensive knowledge of digital platforms and emerging technologies learning trends
• Valid EB (08) driver’s licence.

Key performance areas: 

• Provide substantial professional knowledge in the provision of digital services, and develop, plan, and oversee relevant digital-related programming and initiatives for library patrons across all age groups in collaboration with relevant internal and external partners
• Apply professional knowledge to activities associated with the assessment, selection, and acquisition of library collection resources in formats related to digital, platforms, in cooperation with the Collection Development Unit and other relevant internal and external partners
• Provide a range of professional functions which include:
  • A professional advisory and orientation service for library personnel
  • Contributing to an innovative, integrated, and sustained approach to rendering an effective digital library service
  • Supporting relevant digital related programming to stimulate and promote the use of digital resources and services to the community and across the department
• Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships and partnerships
• Compile research-based reports, and communicate on the results of investigations related to the provision of digital services in the department
• Keep abreast with developments and trends in relevant digital technologies that can be harnessed for improved service provision
• Co-ordinate various communication platforms with fellow professionals and stakeholders.
