Marketing & Events Assistant
Crew Bar / Opium / STELLAR Productions
We are looking for a dynamic Marketing & Events Assistant to support the growth of our
nightlife venues and entertainment brand in Cape Town.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in creative environments, understands nightlife
culture, and is equally comfortable behind a laptop planning content or on the floor
hosting a busy event night.
You’ll work directly with the management team to help drive marketing, event promotion,
partnerships, and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Marketing
●
Assist with planning and scheduling social media content across Instagram,
Facebook, and other platforms
●
Capture photo and video content during events
●
Create and post Instagram stories, reels, and updates in real time
●
Monitor comments and messages and respond where appropriate
●
Assist with basic copywriting for posts, events, and announcements
●
Track performance of posts and help improve reach and engagement
Event Support
●
Assist with promoting weekly and special events
●
Help coordinate guest lists, performers, DJs, and event details
●
Be present during key nights to ensure the event runs smoothly
●
Help host and welcome guests when required
Partnerships & Community
●
Help build relationships with performers, DJs, and community partners
●
Assist with influencer outreach and collaborations
●
Support cross-promotions with nearby venues and partners
Operations & Admin
●
Assist with maintaining marketing calendars
●
Coordinate simple design requests with graphic designers●
Support general admin related to events and marketing
●
Help track event performance and attendance
Required Skills
- Administration: 2 to 3 years
- Marketing: 1 to 2 years
- Social Media: 2 to 3 years
- Eventing: 1 year or less
Candidate Requirements

Strong understanding of Instagram and nightlife marketing
●
Comfortable speaking to guests and hosting people
●
Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
●
Creative thinker who can bring ideas for events and promotion
●
Reliable and calm in busy nightlife environments
●
Strong communication and team skills
●
Basic design or editing skills are a bonus
●
A team player
Ideal Background
●
Marketing / communications / media student or graduate
●
Experience working in bars, clubs, events, or entertainment would be a plus
●
Passion for music, nightlife, and queer culture
The Reality of the Role
This is not a purely desk-based job. Some weeks will be admin and planning, other weeks
will be on-the-ground at events capturing content, helping host guests, and
supporting the team.
Flexibility and enthusiasm are key.
