A leading art and design company is looking for an experienced Head of Shipping to manage all artwork logistics, including packing, transport, customs, insurance, and exhibition support, while leading a shipping team and ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee local and international shipment of artworks, including packing, crating, labeling, and tracking.

• Coordinate with curators, conservators, lenders, and freight forwarders to meet deadlines.

• Manage shipping staff and contractors for installs, deinstalls, and storage.

• Maintain inventory and shipment tracking systems, and off-site storage procedures.

• Negotiate rates and manage supplier and courier relationships.

• Prepare and manage logistics budgets, approve expenditures, and report on KPIs.

• Ensure compliance with customs, insurance, and international transport regulations.

• Develop and implement shipping procedures, handling protocols, and condition-report standards.

Requirements:

• Degree in arts administration, logistics, museum studies, business, or related field; BCom in Supply Chain/Operations/Logistics preferred.

• 5+ years experience in art handling, shipping/logistics, or collections management; 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.

• Knowledge of fine art packing, condition reporting, and conservation-aware handling.

• Familiarity with international customs, import/export laws, and insurance.

• Vendor management, negotiation, organizational, and project-management skills.

• Proficiency in shipping/inventory software, Microsoft Office, and Excel/PowerPoint.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

• Attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure.
