Our client is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator (Container Department).

Minimum Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, International Trade or similar
3. Previous experience in freight forwarding / logistics
4. Experience with Navis
5. Willing to take calls after hours

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for streamlining inbound & outbound freight, client & carrier communication, problem-solving, and order management within the company’s container department
• Assistance in the training of new recruits, recruitment of transporters and freight forwarders, and management of relationships through timely communication
• Daily administrative duties, including costing & development of CTOs
• Successful management of stakeholders through concise relationship building, development of contingency plans, and development of strong relationships
• Management of fleet & stakeholders with an average of 60 container loads a day
• Using Microsoft Suite to store all load data and various other functions
• Negotiate rates with transporters
• Adding new transporters to our existing book and ensuring GIT insurance is in place
• Route planning and Management of all collections and deliveries
• Take responsibility for loading of export produce
