Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide the Accounts Assistant, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding accounts
• Support resolution of complex account queries or escalated customer issues
• Maintain and apply the debtors demerit system accurately
• Prepare weekly debtors reports for the Finance Manager, highlighting collection status, overdue balances, and risks
• Provide accurate debtors data to assist with cashflow forecasting
• Identify gaps in collections processes and recommend improvements

• Supervise and guide relevant staff to ensure invoices are captured accurately and promptly
• Prepare and submit monthly creditors reconciliation by the 15th of each month
• Manage supplier payment queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
• Ensure proper allocation of costs across accounts and cost centres
• Maintain up-to-date supplier records and statements

• Prepare monthly VAT reconciliation and VAT201 return within regulatory deadlines
• Complete assigned month-end reconciliations on time
• Identify and resolve reconciling items proactively
• Support the Finance Manager during the month-end close process

• Accurately process all foreign currency transactions
• Ensure banking platforms and credit card transactions are updated within prescribed timelines
• Reconcile petty cash weekly, ensuring balances are correct
• Maintain accurate records of foreign currency transactions for reporting purposes

• Contribute to monthly finance review meetings and suggest process improvements
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
• Guide finance support staff daily and monitor progress
• Identify inefficiencies in finance processes and propose solutions

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant finance or accounting qualification (diploma or degree)
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role
• Proven expertise in debtors, creditors, and bank reconciliations
• Hands-on experience with foreign currency transactions
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero)
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively

• Exposure to cashflow forecasting and month-end reporting
• Experience mentoring or overseeing junior finance staff
• Familiarity with import finance processes
