💼 Structural Draughtsman / Structural Technician
Our client is expanding its Structural Engineering Department and is looking for a detail-oriented Structural Draughtsman / Technician. This role focuses on creating accurate structural drawings, BIM models, and documentation that meet industry standards and project requirements.

📍 Location: Pretoria
💰 Salary: R20,000 - R32,000
🕰️ Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Key Responsibilities:

• BIM Modelling & Drafting:

  • Create and maintain 3D BIM models using Revit Structure.

  • Prepare structural construction drawings in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and suitable for construction.

  • Follow company CAD/BIM standards.

• Structural Detailing:

  • Reinforced concrete detailing according to SANS codes.

  • Structural steel detailing and general arrangement drawings.

  • Prepare bending schedules and quantity take-offs.

• Design Support:

  • Assist engineers with concept designs and preliminary drawings.

  • Convert engineering calculations and specifications into drawings.

  • Identify design issues and communicate them to engineers.

• Coordination & Documentation:

  • Coordinate drawings with architectural, civil, and MEP teams.

  • Manage drawing revisions, documentation, and transmittals.

  • Review external drawings and identify clashes or changes.

• Project Support:

  • Assist with quantity measurements and cost estimates.

  • Help the team meet project deadlines and programme requirements.

• Compliance:

  • Ensure drawings comply with SANS standards, municipal regulations, and health and safety requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Qualification: Structural Drafting or Civil/Structural Engineering.

• Experience: 3-5 years in a structural consulting environment.
  

• Experience working in a professional drawing office with revision control.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles including reinforced concrete, structural steel and foundations.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Revit Structure and AutoCAD.

  • BIM coordination experience (Navisworks advantageous).

  • Understanding of SANS design codes.

Hoof Verantwoordelikhede:

• BIM Modellering & Tegening:

  • Skep en onderhou 3D BIM-modelle met behulp van Revit Structure.

  • Berei strukturele konstruksietekeninge voor in Revit en AutoCAD.

  • Verseker dat tekeninge duidelik, akkuraat en geskik vir konstruksie is.

  • Volg maatskappy CAD/BIM standaarde.

• Strukturele Detailering:

  • Staalversterkte beton detailering volgens SANS-kodes.

  • Strukturele staal detailering en algemene uitleg tekeninge.

  • Berei buigskedules en hoeveelheidopname voor.

• Ontwerpondersteuning:

  • Help ingenieurs met konsepontwerpe en voorlopige tekeninge.

  • Omskep ingenieursberekeninge en spesifikasies in tekeninge.

  • Identifiseer ontwerpprobleme en kommunikeer dit met ingenieurs.

• Koördinasie & Dokumentasie:

  • Koördineer tekeninge met argitektoniese, siviele en MEP spanlede.

  • Bestuur tekeningsherwings, dokumentasie en transmittale.

  • Hersien eksterne tekeninge en identifiseer botsings of veranderinge.

• Projekondersteuning:

  • Help met hoeveelheidopnames en kosteberamings.

  • Help die span om projekte se sperdatums en programvereistes te haal.

• Nakoming:

  • Verseker dat tekeninge voldoen aan SANS-standaarde, munisipale regulasies en gesondheids- en veiligheidsvereistes.

Pos Vereistes:

• Kwalifikasie: Strukturele Tekenaar of Siviele/Strukturele Ingenieurswese.

• Ervaring: 3-5 jaar in 'n strukturele konsultasie-omgewing.

• Ervaring in 'n professionele teken kantoor met hersienings beheer
• Kennis van struktuele Ingeniuerswese beginsels insluitend Staalversterkte Beton, Strukturele Staal en fondasies

• Tegniese Vaardighede:

  • Vervaardigheid in Revit Structure en AutoCAD.

  • BIM koördinasie-ervaring (Navisworks is voordelig).

  • Verstaan van SANS ontwerpkodes.
