How you'll role
The International Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating global shipments, ensuring the efficient movement of goods across international borders. This role works closely with freight forwarders, courier companies, and customs brokers to ensure compliance with import and export regulations in multiple regions including the United States, Canada, Spain, and other European Union countries. The position supports supply chain operations by managing shipping documentation, monitoring customs clearance, and ensuring duties, taxes, and regulatory requirements are met while maintaining cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.
What you'll do
International Shipping & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate international shipments via air, sea, and courier services
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and courier companies to arrange transport and monitor shipment progress
- Track shipments from origin through customs clearance to final delivery
Customs Trade Compliance
- Work closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth import and export clearance
- Prepare and review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and export documentation
- Maintain a working knowledge of HS codes, duties, and taxes applicable to shipments
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations in the United States, Canada, Spain, and other EU countries
Duties, Taxes & Import Documentation
- Coordinate payment of import duties and taxes where required
- Verify tariff classifications and assist with correct HS code usage
- Understanding SAD500 and checking for queries and correction
- Ensure documentation accuracy to avoid customs delays or penalties
Courier & Freight Management
- Manage courier shipments using providers such as express carriers and international freight partners
- Obtain shipping quotes and select the most cost-effective transport solutions
- Monitor freight costs and assist with logistics budgeting
Supplier & Internal Coordination
- Communicate with suppliers and warehouses to ensure shipments are prepared and dispatched correctly
- Coordinate with internal teams such as procurement, finance, and operations to ensure shipment readiness and documentation accuracy
- Provide shipment updates and resolve logistics issues proactively
- Update information on the ERP system
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate shipment records and logistics documentation
- Track shipment performance, delivery times, and logistics costs
- Support audits and compliance reporting where required
Required Skills
- Logistics: 3 to 4 years
- Erp Systems: 3 to 4 years
- Import Export Management: 3 to 4 years
Candidate Requirements
What you'll need
- 3–5 years experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination
- Experience managing imports and exports across multiple countries
- Familiarity with shipping electronic goods or technical equipment is beneficial
- Understanding of Spanish regulations would be advantageous
Knowledge
- Basic understanding of HS codes, tariff classifications, SAD500 and import duties
- Knowledge of customs clearance processes in USA, Canada, Spain, and EU countries
- Understanding of international shipping documentation and Incoterms
Skills
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills for working with international partners and logistics providers
- Problem-solving ability when dealing with customs or transport delays
Systems
- Experience with logistics platforms, courier portals, or ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
