Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide engineering support services by performing analysis, compilation and recording of statistical engineering data for Quality Assurance purposes.
To ensure the availability of engineering and quality data to all relevant stakeholders.

Section A: Key Performance Areas
1. Quality Assurance Control (30%)
Responsibilities
Develops and coordinates in-house electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and systems procedures, standards and specifications.
Maintains engineering aligned QA records, working (amongst others) with Shopware.
Ensures original machine manufacturing data is available, utilized and complied with in all engineering practices.
Ensures engineering manufacturing processes are consistently capable of meeting customer requirements.
Co-ordinates and supports all on-site audits conducted by internal colleagues and external consultants.
Evaluates audit findings and implements corrective actions to achieve QA standards.
Key Performance Indicators
Systems, procedures, standards and specifications developed.
Records maintained.
Manufacturing data available and stipulations complied with.
Customer demand met.
Site audits performed to achieve desirable QA outcomes.
Corrective actions on audit outcomes executed and issues rectified timeously.
2. Engineering Systems and Support (25%)
Responsibilities
Reviews the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems.
Evaluates the accuracy and reliability of engineering Quality Assurance standards.
Acts as a catalyst for change and improvement in terms of machine performance and produced quality to enhance efficiency.
Oversees and maintains document management systems.
Compiles managerial and technical / engineering reports.
Manages the Facilities Team consisting of:
One handyman
Two assistants
One plumber
Two semi-skilled HVAC members
One semi-skilled electrician.
Key Performance Indicators
Quality and inspection systems reviewed for efficiency.
Efficiency reports produced.
QA standards evaluated and reported.
Machine performance enhanced.
Process efficiency, improvement and QA initiatives presented and implemented.
Document management systems in place and maintained.
Reports presented to relevant stakeholders.
Ensures the team’s daily and unplanned tasks are up to date.
Ensures blood lead levels are adhered to.
Ensures parts are ordered and purchases followed up for the facilities team.
Contacts outside support when needed.
3. Compliance (25%)
Responsibilities
Operates within controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of AutoX.
Identifies and reports risks or areas of concern to management within the area of responsibility.
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure.
Key Performance Indicators
Compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
Risks reported to Manager.
Availability of documentation and records.
Cost and expenditure monitored and waste minimized.
4. Cost and Financial Control (10%)
Responsibilities
Contributes to the budget preparation process.
Promotes and communicates the effective, efficient, economical and transparent use of financial and other resources.
Monitors and controls expenditure against the budget and ensures spending occurs within budgetary limits and AutoX financial guidelines.
Reports deviations to the direct Manager.
Explores opportunities to control and reduce costs.
Key Performance Indicators
Budget input provided in a timely manner.
Compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
Cost and expenditure monitored and waste minimized.
Opportunities to control and reduce costs presented and implemented.
5. Customer Service (10%)
Responsibilities
Maintains effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external) to render the highest quality of services.
Represents AutoX in meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Identifies and solves problems creatively whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with AutoX core values.

Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF 6)
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NQF 6)
Diploma in related Engineering fields (NQF 6)
Advantageous
Degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF 7)

Degree in related Engineering fields (NQF 7)
Experience
Minimum
Up to 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering in a Manufacturing environment.
Technical Competencies (Knowledge / Systems / Legislation)
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite; relevant job-specific software systems).
Knowledge of Quality Systems.
Knowledge of Engineering Maintenance Systems.
