A well-established company in the supply and distribution sector within the ceilings, partitions, and construction materials industry is seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team based at Head Office in Durban.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting procurement operations across multiple branches, ensuring efficient purchasing processes, maintaining stock levels, and assisting with supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Procure non-stock items, including consumables, repairs and maintenance items, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and PPE.
Monitor and maintain stock ordering levels to ensure optimal inventory across branches.
Track and review daily and weekly order reports.
Generate and manage purchase orders.
Prepare variance reports and review findings with relevant departmental heads.
Perform all administrative duties associated with procurement activities.
Facilitate and participate in weekly inter-branch procurement meetings.
Provide support to the Senior Buyer with international purchasing activities.
Assist in coordinating procurement requirements across branches to ensure operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements
Key RequirementsMinimum qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ multi-branch procurement experience within one of the following industries:
Ceilings and partitions
Hardware
Construction materials
Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
Experience with K8 / Kerridge ERP system will be advantageous.
Key Skills & Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong technical understanding of ceilings, partitions, or hardware products.
High attention to detail and strong administrative ability.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Comfortable working in a large warehouse environment and physically fit when required.
Flexible team player willing to assist across functions when needed (role is approximately 50% office-based).
Ability to start work at 07:00 AM.
