Our client, a leading provider of integrated business solutions, has the above position available at their office based in Paarl. The ideal candidate is a detailed, analytical, driven individual with excellent accounting knowledge and has the ability to work accurately under pressure.

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analysing, monitoring, and reporting on the company’s operational costs to support financial efficiency and improved profitability. The role involves evaluating cost structures, identifying areas for improvement, and providing management with meaningful financial insights to support informed decision-making. The Successful candidate will work closely with the operational team and the Managing Director.

This position plays a key role in cost control, margin management, budgeting, and financial planning by delivering accurate and relevant cost analysis across the organisation, ultimately contributing to improved operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: *Analyse and monitor operational costs, including labour, materials, logistics, and overheads to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities *Prepare cost analysis reports and provide insights to support financial and operational decision-making *Analyse profitability and margins across products, services, clients, and departments, highlighting underperforming areas *Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and monitoring performance against approved budgets *Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and support cost control initiatives *Monitor inventory and procurement costs, identifying opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency *Contribute to improving financial reporting processes, cost analysis systems, and overall operational efficiency *All other tasks related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Cost/Management Accounting;
• Professional qualification such as SAIPA is preferred;
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in cost analysis, management accounting, or financial analysis;
• Experience in operations, sales, distribution, and/or service environments is advantageous;
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office, relevant accounting systems will be advanatgeous);
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
• Own reliable transport.
