Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Worker – Maintenance to assist with the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of company properties. The successful candidate will support the Properties Department in ensuring that buildings, grounds, and facilities are well maintained, safe, and operational at all times.

To ensure the offices and other venues are kept maintained in order to create a orderly environment for staff and customers. The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting a qualified artisan with the day-to-day duties in a particular trade and will have sufficient relevant experience to perform the assistant work required.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
• 1 - 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• The applicant should be in good physical condition as the position involves physical work and standing for extended periods.
• A willingness to work overtime, on weekends and holidays when required
  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining, cleaning and sorting of the working areas.
• Perform basic electrical duties according to order and under supervision including the use of electrical hand equipment (grinder, drill, test meters)
• Cleaning of cables and electrical equipment during daily maintenance
• Constant complying with health and safety standards in execution of worksheets and maintenance
  Offer a high quality of work in a neat manner
• Willing to undergo training towards qualification
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
  
• Report maintenance concerns to the supervisor promptly
• Assist contractors and service providers when required
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
