Employer: Air Products South Africa (Pty) Limited

The Technician will be responsible for carrying out all engineering activities and project operations within the KZN Region, ensuring effective execution, adherence to standards, and the successful fulfilment of responsibilities. Key areas of responsibility for this role include but are not limited to:

1. Oversee and ensure the efficient operation of the ESD maintenance and projects department within the KZN Region, in alignment with corporate and legal standards.

2. Ensure high-quality workmanship for all on-site installations and maintenance activities, including those performed by contractors.

3. Maintain the highest level of safety by always adhering to EHS&Q requirements to mitigate risks to personnel and property.

4. Prepare and submit detailed reports on maintenance, project progress, and safety-related activities.

5. Support the implementation and management of required safety protocols and departmental systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

1. A Matric certificate with Maths and Science.

2. Completion of NTC 2 - 4 qualification or an equivalent certification.

3. Must be a Trade Tested Artisan, preferably as a Fitter or Millwright.

4. SAQCC installer certification will be advantageous.

5. A minimum of 3-5 years of Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance experience in a heavy engineering or production environment, preferably within the Gas or related industry.

6. Familiarity and experience with ISO and SHERQ systems.

7. Proven experience in working with customers, suppliers, and supervising contractors at various levels.

8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

9. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite.

10. A valid unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.

11. Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.

12. Availability to be on standby during weekends and public holidays.

13. Flexibility to travel extensively when necessary.

14. Medically fit to perform tasks at heights.
