Our client, a leading company in the Modular Process Plant Engineering sector, is seeking an experienced Proposals Engineer to join their technical and commercial team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically sound proposals for modular plants, process equipment, and engineering solutions.
This role requires strong engineering knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to interpret complex client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development
- Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for modular process plants and related engineering solutions.
- Interpret client specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and scope documents.
- Compile cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing structures.
- Liaise with engineering, design, procurement, and project teams to gather accurate information.
- Ensure proposals comply with client requirements, industry standards, and internal processes.
Technical & Commercial Support
- Provide technical input during client meetings, presentations, and clarification sessions.
- Assist with tender submissions, RFQs, and bid documentation.
- Support the sales team with technical insights and solution development.
- Identify cost?saving opportunities and value?engineering options.
Coordination & Documentation
- Maintain proposal documentation, revision control, and submission records.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical data.
- Track proposal progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal templates and processes.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Proposals Engineer within Modular Process Plants, Process Engineering, Mining, Mineral Processing, or Industrial Engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of process flow, modular plant layouts, equipment selection, and engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, datasheets, and technical specifications.
- Experience preparing cost estimates, BOQs, and commercial proposals.
- Strong communication and client?facing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or similar) advantageous.
- High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
