Our client, a missions organisation based in Somerset West, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to work with a wide variety of demographics, personalities, and age groups.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Financial Accounting: Process invoices, expenses, and receipts; Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register; Perform monthly reconciliations and prepare journals and month-end adjustments; Review the insurance register annually. *Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management reports; Analyse performance and variances; Assist with budgets and forecasts; Maintain KPI dashboards. *Tax & Compliance: Assist with VAT and income tax returns; Support tax calculations and ensure compliance; Prepare audit documents and liaise with authorities. *Internal Controls: Strengthen internal controls; Improve systems and automation; Update policies and procedures; Identify and address inefficiencies. *Payroll Support: Process payroll and statutory submissions; Reconcile payroll accounts; Prepare PAYE and related returns. *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Minimum 2–4 years’ post articles experience;
• Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles;
• Knowledge of local tax legislation and compliance requirements;
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar);
• Experience working with Dext Bookkeeping Software will be advantageous;
• Strong computer literacy, specifically Excel;
• Own reliable transport.
