This role will be responsible to carry out the SQL Software Developer functions and provide Solution & Database Support

Duties and Responsibilities

Solution Support
• Contribute to the training and guidance of end-users
• Contribute to the development of operational reports and data ingress pipelines
• Interpret, write, and communicate applicable sections of User Requirement Specifications (URS)
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems programming and system analysis
• Troubleshooting, fault-finding and analysis on systems
• System configuration, user management and RBAC
• Data collection, extraction and representation skills
• Able to implement minor changes in software solutions
• Installation and maintenance of software packages
Information System Design & Development Skills:
• Sound knowledge of T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server
• Sound knowledge of entity relationship modelling of database design
• Sound knowledge of optimal database design for query performance, robustness, maintainability
• Sound knowledge of enterprise data flows across various silos and data warehousing
• Knowledge of enterprise systems
     o ERP systems such as Sage
     o Laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
     o Computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Pragma Onkey
• Assist Users to extract data from database and be able in writing basic to intermediate SQL Queries
• Be able to assist with writing of User Requirement Specifications
• Knowledge in Microsoft software development technologies and scripting tools such as SQL, PostGres, C#, Vue.js will be advantageous
Communication:
• Provide expertise, analysis, and advice to team members as needed
• Create technical documentation of a presentable high standard
• Communicate effectively with management, team members and stakeholders

• Interest in the full life cycle of MIS systems and the impact/future of AI integrations
• Interest in building solutions in the OT space and providing insights to complex operations


Qualification Requirements
• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.
• University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science: Information Systems / Engineering


Experience and Skills Requirements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in database development and relational database design and development, preferably within the mining industry or related engineering industries
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in software development and support, utilising Microsoft technologies
• Experience in business intelligence/operational intelligence report development will be advantageous
