D’Aria Winery, situated in the well-known Durbanville wine region, seeks to appoint a dynamic, disciplined and commercially astute Operations Manager for their Conference Venue. This hospitality role is ideal for someone who shares our commitment to strengthening and advancing our renowned, premium, high?performance conference and function venue.
This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in structure, accountability, operational precision and service excellence. We are seeking a leader with strong operational management experience, excellent people skills and a passion for delivering high-performance hospitality. The successful candidate will lead daily operations, uphold exceptional guest experiences, ensure full compliance, and guide the team to maintain Venue D’Aria as a structured, efficient, brand-driven business unit.
Duties will include (but not be limited to): *Operational Leadership: Overseeing daily venue operations; coordinating suppliers, services and maintenance; ensuring full compliance with safety, legal and brand standards; and protecting the operational integrity of Venue D’Aria. *Commercial & Financial Management: Managing budgets, operational expenses, cost controls and pricing structures; driving revenue growth. *Event & Guest Experience: Ensuring flawless execution of events, conferences and meetings; delivering premium client service; managing escalations professionally; and maintaining a seamless guest journey from arrival to departure. *Team Leadership: Leading, coaching and developing staff; enforcing SOPs and performance standards; established a culture of attention to detail; and cultivating a disciplined, service-driven culture. *Bar & Facilities Management: Full oversight of bar operations, stock control and compliance; supervising venue facilities; and ensuring efficient, well-maintained infrastructure.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Minimum 5-8 years’ hospitality/conference and venue operations management experience;
• Candidates with a proven track record in managing conference groups exceeding 200 attendees on a regular basis will have an advantage;
• Proven leadership ability in high-pressure, high-standard environments;
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• High proficiency in operational systems, workflows and SOP implementation;
• Professional, disciplined and solutions-driven approach;
• Valid driver’s licence.
