A well-established hotel/guesthouse in Durbanville is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a specific kitchen section, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards.This role is ideal for a dedicated chef who thrives in a structured yet fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Take full responsibility for designated kitchen section (e.g., hot kitchen, breakfast, grill, pastry, etc.)
Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with the establishment’s standards
Ensure consistent portion control and minimal wastage
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with health & safety regulations
Assist in stock control, stock rotation (FIFO), and inventory management
Monitor food quality and freshness
Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef
Assist with menu preparation and seasonal menu changes where required
Ensure all equipment is used and maintained correctly

Minimum Requirements

Relevant culinary qualification (preferred)
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready for promotion
Experience in a hotel or guesthouse environment advantageous
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Own transport (preferred due to location)
Ability to work well under pressure
