A well-established industrial engineering and manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Production Draughtsman with strong mechanical knowledge and a detailed approach to producing accurate technical drawings and documentation for components and assemblies. The role supports manufacturing, quality assurance, and project delivery within an ISO-accredited environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, including assembly, fabrication, and layout drawings.

• Ensure all drawings comply with project, company, and ISO standards.

• Interpret engineers’ design briefs and develop practical manufacturing solutions.

• Attend design briefings and collaborate with engineers prior to finalising drawings.

• Update and revise existing drawings while maintaining accurate revision records.

• Implement and maintain drawing revision control procedures using document management systems.

• Ensure compliance with relevant mechanical codes and standards.

• Liaise with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure accuracy and alignment.

• Complete drawing tasks within required timeframes and prioritise according to project deadlines.

• Support quality assurance processes through accurate drawings for inspections and dimensional checks.

• Continuously improve drafting skills, software proficiency, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Draughting.

• Proven experience as a Production or Mechanical Draughtsman within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prepare detailed production drawings.

• Proficiency in CAD software.

• Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good time management and organisational ability.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
