HVAC INSTALLATION TECHNICIANSomerset West: My client, a My client, a well-established air-conditioning and ventilation company based in Somerset West, is seeking to appoint a highly experienced, qualified Senior HVAC Installation Technician to join their team.This opportunity is suited to a hands-on, technically strong professional with 10–15 years’ post-qualification experience who takes pride in workmanship, compliance, and leading installations to the highest industry standards.

Purpose of the Role: To oversee and execute the installation, commissioning and handover of residential and commercial HVAC systems, ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance, and efficient project delivery while supervising Junior Installation Assistant.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

Install, commission and test a wide range of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
Interpret technical drawings and installation specifications
Lead on-site installations and supervise one Installation Assistant
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Conduct system testing, balancing and final commissioning
Perform fault finding and resolve installation challenges
Work with various leading HVAC brands and refrigeration systems
Ensure proper refrigerant handling and regulatory compliance
Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order
Deliver high-quality workmanship and professional client service

Criteria

Trade Tested Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Artisan
10–15 years’ proven experience as a qualified HVAC Installation Technician
Relevant NQF qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
Red Seal qualification preferred
Valid SAQCC Gas Registration (essential)
Valid Refrigerant Handling Certification
Strong knowledge of multiple air-conditioning brands and refrigeration system
Proven ability to lead installations and supervise a junior technician
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and site layouts
Sound understanding of HVAC electrical components
Strong fault-finding and commissioning ability
Valid driver’s licence
Professional, reliable and client-focused
Full proficient in English and Afrikaans (read, speak and write)
High level of computer literacy
