Overview of Role & Summary of Job Description:
The role directly enables or facilitates, supports and coordinates fundraising, which is vital to informing institutional fundraising strategy, implementing resource mobilisation activities, providing systems support, effective administration and institutional coordination in support of operationalising the CMSA’s overall fundraising strategy and optimising the operational functioning of the new CMSA fundraising function, systems and processes.
The role requires a highly self-motivated individual who collaboratively works across the CMSA, its various governance structures and constituent colleges to facilitate both local and international fundraising efforts, coordinating the fundraising system to ensure the effective implementation of the CMSA fundraising strategy, in addition to providing administrative support and simultaneous project management of various initiatives to achieve the annual fundraising goals and targets.

Candidate Requirements
Main Responsibilities & Key Performance Task Areas:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Business intelligence, prospect and funding trends-related research
- Strategic, operational, and administrative support to the fundraising function/unit along with all internal roleplayers involved in raising funds and implementing externally funded projects
- Proposal development and coordination, packaged to best practice standards and aligned with funder/sponsor requirements
- Continuous prospect research pipeline coordination and agile responding to new development and partnership opportunities
- Donation processing /acknowledgement of all grants
- Donor database management of existing/new/prospective/lapsed donors
- Preparing business and performance reports in compliance with funding agreements and managing the fundraising performance dashboard
- Coordination of CMSA fundraising presentations, activities and events
- Business liaison with fundraising service providers/contractors
- Overseeing all administrative and financial requirements related to the fundraising function
- Implementation of a best-in-class donor stewardship programme for all donors
- Provision of administrative support services to the CMSA Foundation NPC and the Young Specialists Forum (YSF).

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- A minimum of five years in demonstrable fundraising coordination and/or a degree/diploma in business development/management or post-school qualification in resource mobilisation.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in stewardship of donors and management of projects.
- Technical competence in MS Office, and proficiency in use of email, social media, prospect research tools and CRM database management.
Preferred Experience:
The following experience would be advantageous:
- Broad experience and proven track record of past fundraising coordination performance, preferably at a large institution (eg. at a school or faculty of medicine at a higher education institution or for a university) would be a very strong advantage.
- Engaging, collaborative style that is well-suited to working constructively with members, academia, committees/volunteers, donors and a broad cross-section of CMSA colleagues.
