RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established construction company based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded individual with strong procurement experience within the building construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure materials, plant, and services in line with project requirements
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project timelines
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with site teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
• Track costs and assist with budget control and cost-saving initiatives
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Buyer within the building construction industry
• Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or similar
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and supplier networks
• Proven negotiation and cost management skills
• Proficient in MS Office and procurement systems
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
