Our Structural Engineering Firm – A19 Consulting Engineers, is looking to appoint a Junior to mid-level Structural Engineer to perform the design, detailing and inspections for various projects at our Somerset West Office.

To fulfil the responsibilities of this role, you are expected to be detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving skills, display an investigative nature and must be accurate, commercially aware, and have great communication skills. This is a collaborative position that will allow the Engineer to learn from those around them while also getting a chance to work autonomously on projects from concept to completion.

Required Skills

Bim: 2 to 3 years
Autocad Engineer: 2 to 3 years

Candidate Requirements

Structural Engineer Requirements and Qualifications

National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Experience with AutoCAD, or similar computer-aided design software.
Experience with BIM (building information modelling) software, such as Revit and Prokon is a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in structural design and detailing of various structures (Steel, Concrete, Masonry and Timber).

· Create technical drawings and project specifications.

· Liaise with professionals such as architects, specialist engineers, clients and contractors.

· Perform site inspections of structural elements.
