A reputable private hospital in Kempton park is seeking an experienced Unit Manager – CSSD / Theatre (Registered Nurse) to join their clinical leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment for staff, doctors, and patients while ensuring high standards of clinical care, operational efficiency, and cost-effective unit management. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations within the CSSD and Theatre units to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
• Lead training, orientation, and ongoing development of nursing and CSSD staff.
• Manage stock and equipment effectively to reduce wastage, ensure accurate billing, and prevent misuse.
• Promote quality patient care, customer service excellence, and effective communication within the unit.
• Monitor and manage operational costs, including the cost-effective utilization of permanent and agency (locum) nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
Requirements:
• Diploma in General Nursing Science.
• Diploma in Theatre Nursing.
• Current SANC registration and proof of indemnity cover.
• Minimum of three years post-basic clinical experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Strong organisational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership ability and ability to work effectively under pressure.
