A reputable private hospital in Kempton Park is seeking an experienced Zone Matron – Specialty Units (General Nursing) to join their leadership team. The successful candidate will be a senior nursing leader responsible for overseeing nursing services within a designated zone, ensuring clinical excellence, patient safety, and high standards of care. This role requires strong leadership capability, operational oversight, and the ability to drive quality improvement initiatives within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strong leadership to nursing staff within the designated zone, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee recruitment, training, development, and performance management of nursing staff.
• Ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with established clinical guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes, implementing corrective actions to improve quality and safety.
• Manage nursing resources, staffing levels, budgets, and equipment effectively.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct audits and promote clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and enhance service delivery.
• Address patient and family concerns promptly, ensuring a patient-centered care approach.
• Contribute to policy development, strategic planning, and hospital management initiatives.
• Lead emergency preparedness and manage critical incidents within the designated zone.
Requirements:
• Diploma in General Nursing Science.
• Education Qualification in Nursing.
• Diploma in Medical and Surgical (Critical Care) Nursing Science.
• Post Graduate Diploma.
• ACLS certification (advantageous).
• Current SANC registration and proof of indemnity cover.
• Minimum 5–7 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety measures.
• Strong leadership, organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
