Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in the mining and farming industry. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including filing tax returns and maintaining tax records
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics
Provide support for external audits and financial reporting requirements
Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
Collaborate with other departments to support operational and strategic initiatives
Mentor and train junior accounting staff
Key Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or advanced certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the mining or farming industry
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
