Role Purpose
The Technical Advisor is responsible for providing expert technical support to the Milling Plant, Boilerserve and Environmental Business Unit. The role focuses on ensuring operational reliability, maintenance excellence, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of plant performance within a heavy industrial environment. The incumbent will work closely with engineering teams, clients, and contractors to resolve technical issues and prevent unplanned downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support and Advisory
Provide specialist technical expertise by developing, enhancing, and implementing tools, systems, and programmes that support operational and maintenance excellence. Ensure all work aligns with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Plant Reliability and Performance
Identify, address, and prevent causes of unplanned downtime and milling plant failures through proactive interventions and process improvements. Participate in root cause failure analysis to enhance system reliability and prevent recurrence of faults.
Maintenance and Procedure Development
Develop, review, and update technical procedures, maintenance schedules, and operating guidelines to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with company standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with engineering teams, clients, management, and contractors to resolve technical issues efficiently and cost-effectively. Engage with clients to ensure technical solutions meet operational expectations.
Compliance and Governance
Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as internal company procedures. Perform all reasonable duties within the scope of the position to achieve business objectives.

- Technical Advisor: 6 to 7 years
Candidate Requirements
Role Requirements
Qualifications
BTech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering qualification.
ECSA registration required.
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a similar or related technical environment, preferably within power generation, boiler systems, or heavy industrial operations.
Technical Skills
Strong technical planning and coordination capability.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Experience in plant maintenance, failure analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Personal Attributes
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving ability.
Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative and drive.
