Role Purpose
The Senior Manager: Finance is responsible for leading the organisation’s financial management, reporting, and strategic planning functions. This role ensures compliance with all financial regulations, tax legislation, and governance frameworks while providing strategic and operational financial leadership to support sustainable growth, sound decision-making, and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement the organisation’s financial strategy aligned to business objectives. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes. Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support informed decision-making and organisational sustainability.
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and local reporting standards. Manage financial controls, cash flow, and working capital to ensure liquidity. Present consolidated financial reports to senior leadership, governance committees, and relevant stakeholders.
Payroll Management
Ensure payroll processes for employees, contractors, and third parties are accurately executed and compliant with legislation. Oversee payroll reporting and ensure system updates are implemented as required.
Compliance and Governance
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation including Income Tax, VAT, and other regulatory requirements. Manage SARS submissions, CIPC filings, and external audit processes. Uphold governance principles and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
People Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team aligned with employment equity and transformation objectives. Promote accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with labour legislation in HR-related processes.
Risk and Internal Controls
Oversee internal audit functions and implement effective risk management frameworks. Evaluate and strengthen financial policies, systems, and controls. Manage insurance and investment portfolios where applicable.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, banks, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Partner with departmental leaders to support operational initiatives and strategic objectives.
Income Generation Support
Identify donor funding opportunities, sponsorships, and alternative revenue streams to enhance organisational sustainability.

- Senior Financial Management: 7 to 8 years
Candidate Requirements
Role Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or BCom degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Honours degree or CA(SA) designation preferred.
Experience
8–10 years’ relevant financial experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior financial management role. Proven experience with financial systems such as CRM platforms, Accpac, Sage People 300, or similar.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax legislation, labour laws, and governance frameworks. Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgement. Ability to operate effectively in a diverse and transformation-focused environment.
