Employer: SOS Children's Village

    The CFE Literacy Facilitator working under the supervision of the Social Worker will play a key role in implementing, supporting, tracking and reporting school-based interventions under the CFE Programme. The role exists to promote psychosocial wellbeing, improve learner performance, strengthen support structures and ultimately ensure that learners remain in school, significantly reducing dropout rates among Grade 8 and 9 learners

    • KPA 1: In-School Literacy and Learning Support
    • KPA 2: After-School, Weekend and Holiday Support
    • KPA 3: School-Based Psychosocial Support Systems
    • KPA 4: Youth Leadership, Peer Support and Learner Participation
    • KPA 5: School-Based Development and Resilience Initiatives
    • KPA 6: Monitoring, Data Management and Reporting
    • KPA 7: Child Protection and Safeguarding

Candidate Requirements

    • Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification (essential).
    • NQF Level 6: Diploma or Advanced Certificate (strong advantage).
    • Diploma or Degree in Education, Literacy, Youth Development, Social Sciences or related field.
    • Valid Driver’s License (Code 10) (essential).
    • Experience in school-based programmes, youth development, literacy support, or community development is highly advantageous.
    • Consideration may be given to applicants who participated in the Presidential Stimulus Employment Programme through the Social Employment Fund, particularly within the early literacy sector.

    ·        A Valid South African Drivers Licence.

    ·        Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience working with adolescents and youth in school or community-based education programmes.

    ·        Experience providing literacy, tutoring or learning support.

    ·        Experience facilitating youth groups, after-school programmes or psychosocial interventions.
