We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Furniture Designer to join our team based in Blantyre, Malawi. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a passion for design excellence and practical execution within a fast-paced retail and manufacturing environment.
With over 10 years’ experience in both custom and retail furniture design, you will bring a strong blend of creativity and technical expertise. You will play a key role in developing innovative, functional, and production-ready furniture solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.

You will be confident working with a wide range of materials including hardwood, veneer, melamine, gloss boards, and upholstered furniture. Your understanding of material application and performance will ensure quality, durability, and cost efficiency.
A high level of proficiency in technical drawings and 3D design software is essential. You must be able to translate concepts into accurate specifications that can be seamlessly executed by production teams.
You will consistently balance aesthetics, durability, and functionality, ensuring designs are not only visually appealing but also practical and manufacturable at scale.
Working closely with factory and production teams, you will ensure designs are effectively implemented, timelines are met, and quality standards are upheld.
