Purpose and Responsibilities
To ensure long term continuity, future development and management of the Quality Assurance department meeting stakeholder satisfaction goals and the company’s overall corporate strategy
Main tasks and responsibilities
Instruct, direct, motivate, supervise and monitor the performance of all members of the Quality Assurance team
Management and control of the company Quality budget
Development and maintenance of an integrated management system within the requirements of ISO 9001 ensuring strategy meets overall corporate needs and departmental KPIs
Contributing to the development of the mid-range plan with responsibility for the establishment of annual Quality objectives and budgets
Supporting the development and maintenance of management systems within company Manufacturing and Service facility.
Overall responsibility for promoting the understanding and objectives of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards within company, liaising with relevant departments to establish standards and control procedures .
Management of programmes for implementation of management systems and internal audits to ensure continual effectiveness and compliance with appropriate standards/procedures
To ensure that all Company Policy is set out in the Quality Manual and is applied in all activities from receipt to final installation
To implement processes which ensure that compliance to require procedures and standards can be demonstrated
To co-ordinate the Company Supplier Evaluation, Approval and Performance Monitoring system with Purchasing and Operations
To ensure that the Quality Assurance Systems meet the standards laid down by Customers
To promote understanding and application of thinking and processes which take a preventative approach to the delivery of the required quality levels
Establish and maintain an effective system for identifying, reporting and implementation of corrective actions resulting from system non-conformance
Planning and co-ordinating external audits
Participation in client kick off meetings where appropriate
Management of supplier audits to ensure that standards adhere to company requirements
Development, participation and support of company initiatives
Ensure that Safe Systems of Work are developed and implemented for all activities, through risk assessment and operating procedures
Support EH&S improvement through observation, intervention and workplace tours.
Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement.
Ensure the product meets customer requirements. (as applicable to New Business; Customer Support Services and Parts Processing Cell)
Ensure all documentation and records maintained in a systematic manner and compliant with Quality requirements
All other duties as relevant to the post

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge RequiredRelevant experience within a Quality Manager role in a multi-faceted, medium to large manufacturing organisation
Ideally Membership of relevant bodies (IQA)
Strong people management skills, with ability to focus and drive employees to achieve results in a pressurised environment to strict deadlines
Proficient in the areas of NDE, welding requirements, materials and metallurgy.
Be familiar with ISO 9001; ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements
Be familiar with the legal requirements related
the product.
General Computer Skills
Skills (must be able to)
Ability to apply the relevant parts of the management system manual and related procedures
Ability to operate effectively within the organisations culture and reporting structure
Ability to identify in-house quality control methods
Ability to differentiate between requirements for in-process and final testing
Ability to identify the products, their manufacturing process, specifications & end use
Perform office administration tasks at an advanced level (PC and record keeping/creating systems)
Handle all company intellectual information in a confidential manner.
