Purpose of the job
This incumbent is responsible for, directs and co-ordinates a range of activities and functions in a dynamic and unique growing business in manufacturing and servicing of Rock Drills in the Mining Industry, to ensure effective operations and achievement of the organizations objectives
Specific tasks and responsibilities
Profitability of the business unit
Direct and manage all aspects associated with Research and Development, Production and Sales of a profitable company Responsible for Business Development, Market Analysis and Strategic Direction for Hydromining.
Stock control and Servicing activities at Sites.
Setting up budgets and forecasts
Departmental cost control
Achieving KPI’s
Customer visits for the development of new and ongoing business Customer contracts reviews and negotiation
Ensuring where appropriate Research and Development is patented Ensuring that the royalties are calculated in accordance with the various agreements
Human Resources: Staff Recruitment, Identifying Training needs; Job Descriptions, Personnel Performance Reviews and appraisals and Disciplinary Hearings.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge RequiredGrade 12
Business Administration Degree and/or Technical/ Sales qualification Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
A minimum of 3 years management experience.
Experience in a Rock Drill manufacturing environment will be an advantage.
Computer Literacy incl MS Office
Directing and Leading a business unit.
