C Fruit, a growing fruit trading and packhouse business operating across fresh and frozen categories, is seeking a driven individual with outstanding planning and problem-solving skills, and the ability work accurately in a high-pressure environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organised, practical, and hands-on, with strong administrative skills and a solutions-driven mindset. This position is based at their packhouse in Klapmuts and will require working in both fresh and frozen areas, including cold and freezing environments.
Resposibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
Food Safety & Compliance:
• Maintain all food safety files and document control systems.
• Prepare for audits (FSA, SIZA, GlobalG.A.P COC, customer audits).
• Coordinate HACCP meetings, training records and compliance documentation.
• Manage traceability, mock recalls and non-conforming product processes.
• Maintain supplier approvals, Halaal, Kosher and COC certifications.
• Monitor intake records (Brix, varieties, farm codes).
• Manage customer complaints and corrective actions.
• Liaise with auditors and implement corrective actions.
Health & Safety (Fresh & Frozen Areas):
• Coordinate monthly H&S meetings and inspections in line with OHSA.
• Conduct risk assessments and maintain safety documentation.
• Ensure PPE compliance and safe operational practices.
• Manage emergency procedures (fire drills, first aid, evacuations).
• Oversee incident reporting and injury-on-duty administration.
• Liaise with service providers (pest control, cleaning, maintenance).
• Support ongoing safety training and awareness.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science, Quality or related field;
• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in Food Safety/Compliance (packhouse or production preferred);
• Working knowledge of HACCP and Audit environments;
• H&S certifications (H&S Rep, First Aider, Fire Fighter) preferred;
• Willing to work shifts and overtime in peak season;
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (essential).
Commencement date: 1 May 2026 or as soon as possible.
