Job Summary:
To promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness following industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council and the Scope of Practice. The incumbent will collaborate with Doctors, multidisciplinary team members, and the community to provide holistic support to patients and their families and loved ones, while supervising allocated team members within a specialised unit.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Nursing degree/diploma.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
- BLS qualification and updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS.
- Previous experience in a private hospital environment is advantageous.
- Previous ICU experience, preferably in cardiothoracic care, will be an advantage.
- Computer Proficiency.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Perform all duties following the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards.
- Adhere to the principles and standards of Patient Advocacy according to SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient rights, and Responsibility Charter., National Millennium Development Goals and the responsibility of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Promote effective and high-quality patient care through the application of relevant policies and procedures, as well as the efficient management of day-to-day Unit activities.
- Ward administration ensures compliance with protocols, security, a safe patient environment, and the Group's patient care standards, as well as adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
- Effective management of cost centre and operational unit activities and processes, including control of equipment, tools, stock, to required levels and according to prescribed guidelines.
