Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
 
The successful applicant will report to the Mechanical Foreman or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Maths / Maths literacy.
  • Relevant Trade Certificate (Fitter/Electrical/ Boilermaker/Millwright).
  • N3 Certificate: Engineering Studies.
  • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
  • Advantageous: Supervisory Certificate.
 EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):
  • 3 years practical relevant trade experience within a heavy industry / mining / production environment.
  • Advantageous: 1 year Supervisory practical experience.
DUTIES (including but not limited to):
  • Assist in ensuring equipment availability and reliability through application of maintenance management/ breakdown occurrence systems and resources to achieve production targets. To assist in planning, execute and managing the section in line with the department/ functional requirements in order to meet business objectives. To assist in managing an effective safety, health, environment and quality management system to ensure the area of responsibility’s legal requirements are met and continuously strive to improve its inherent risk profile.
  • Minimize standing time to ensure availability of equipment through timeous breakdown reaction using the correct resources.
  • Achieve production targets through optimum output. Ensure operational efficiency and quality. Assume responsibility for coordinating subordinates to limit equipment downtime.
  • Monitor tasks delegated to subordinates to ensure Department effectiveness and targets are met.
  • Compile and distribute daily reports and documentation.
  • Perform mini risk assessment and lock-outs procedure as and when required. Ensure availability of hot work permits when required.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine Conditions of Employment, which includes being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
