The Role

As a Parts Sales Representative, you will be the face of the parts department — assisting customers in identifying the correct parts, advising on maintenance solutions and ensuring a smooth and professional purchasing experience.

You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, handling returns, processing orders and supporting overall branch operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically curious, sales-driven and enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced retail and technical environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Customer Sales & Service

  • Welcome and assist customers entering the store
  • Identify and source correct engine or electrical parts
  • Provide product knowledge, maintenance advice and usage guidance
  • Handle dissatisfied customers professionally and find practical solutions to maintain long-term business relationships
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times
  • Inventory & Stock Control
  • Assist with inventory management and ensure correct stocking and display of parts
  • Inspect returned parts for defects and process accordingly
  • Participate in receiving shipments and dispatching customer orders
  • Accurately document all incoming and outgoing inventory

 Administration & Systems

  • Update customer information in the system
  • Process orders efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain organised and accurate records
  • Ensure the store and workspace remain clean, tidy and professional

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (preferably with Higher Grade subjects, especially Mathematics C+)
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Counter Sales, Sales Representative or similar sales role
  • Technical interest in engine parts or electrical components advantageous
  • Strong selling, negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Computer literate and comfortable using retail software
  • Presentable, professional and strong work ethic
  • Target-driven, motivated and confident
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good relationship management skills and openness to feedback

Kliënteverkope en -diens

  • Verwelkom en help kliĂ«nte wat die winkel betree
    • Identifiseer en verkry die korrekte enjin- of elektriese onderdele
    • Verskaf produk kennis, instandhoudingsadvies en gebruiksriglyne
    • Hanteer ontevrede kliënte professioneel en vind praktiese oplossings om langtermyn-werksverhoudings te behou
    • Lewer uitstaande kliëntediens te alle tye

Voorraad- en Stockbeheer

  • Help met voorraadbestuur en verseker korrekte uitstalling en beskikbaarheid van onderdele
    • Inspekteer teruggestuurde onderdele vir defekte en verwerk dit dienooreenkomstig
    • Neem deel aan die ontvangs van versendings en die uitstuur van kliëntebestellings
    • Dokumenteer alle inkomende en uitgaande voorraad akkuraat

Administrasie en Stelsels

  • Voer kliĂ«ntinligting in die stelsel in
    • Verwerk bestellings doeltreffend en akkuraat
    • Handhaaf georganiseerde en korrekte rekords
    • Verseker dat die winkel en werkspasie netjies, skoon en professioneel bly

  • Matriek (verkieslik met HoĂ«rgraad-vakke, veral Wiskunde C+)
    • Geldige bestuurslisensie en eie betroubare vervoer (noodsaaklik)
