We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Certified Boring Mill Operators to join our operations team in Saldanha.

A Boring Mill Operator sets up and operates horizontal or vertical boring mills to machine, bore, and ream high-precision metal parts, castings, or weldments according to blueprints. They interpret technical drawings, calculate dimensions, operate CNC or manual controls, and use precision measuring tools like micrometers to ensure tolerances are met. 

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Set-up & Operation: Align, clamp, and secure heavy workpieces on the machine table using hoists.
• Machining: Bore, mill, drill, and ream parts to exact specifications, often involving tight tolerances.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Measurement: Use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to inspect parts for quality.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine maintenance on machines, sharpen tools, and adhere strictly to safety guidelines.
• Programming (if applicable): Setup, edit, and operate CNC programs.
