MBEZE RESOURCES LTD (MBEZE) is an IVANHOE MINES company operating in the Zambian mining sector, with offices in Lusaka (Lusaka Province), and exploration licenses in North- Western Province Zambia near the town of Zambezi. MBEZE is inviting qualified candidates, both male and female, who are interested in this position. The place of work will be located in Lusaka, and extensive field work would be required.

To assist with the collection and recording of geological data, exploration activities in the field. To prepare core for geological logging and collect required information from diamond core.  To assist with other exploration activities as directed by geologists.

You will have the following:

• High School Level Education
• Zambian national Driver's License 
• Experience in prospecting technical techniques including but not limited to core orientation, specific gravity measurement, core photography, RQD measurement and recording.
• A total of 5 years minimum of active geotechnical work experience
• Fluency in English is essential. Kaonde, Lunda and Luvale are advantageous

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Core orientation and meter marking
• Density measurement
• RQD measurement 

Technical Skills should include:

• Sampling processes and procedures
• Data recording and data entry
• Excel use 

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

Process: 

Provide accurate grading of copper for current production and long-term modeling 

• Orientate core using marks provided by the drillers.
• To identify poor quality orientation marks and inform the geologists and drilling supervisor.
• Meter marks, RQD, core photography, density measurements, core cutting.
• Organise and clean core processing areas and facilities
• Assist with exploration activities in the field (soil sampling, RC sample collection, line clearing, etc)
• Accurately input sampling data into spreadsheets or database as required
