💼Maintenance Technician

Our client is looking for a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their operations team. This role is critical in ensuring that all factory buildings, machinery, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, compliant, and fully operational condition. The successful candidate must be proactive, technically capable, and able to take ownership of preventative maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

📍Location: Industria, Johannesburg
💰Salary: R15 000 per month 
🕰️Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch); Saturday 08:00 – 13:00

Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine servicing, inspections, and minor repairs on forklifts.
· Conduct visual inspections and minor maintenance on overhead cranes.
· Assist with preparation for statutory inspections and Department of Labour audits.
· Carry out general building maintenance including roofing, gutters, windows, doors, walls, and flooring.
· Maintain plumbing systems and resolve leaks and drainage issues.
· Perform basic electrical maintenance (lights, plugs, switches) within legal scope.
· Implement and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
· Maintain service logs, maintenance records, and checklists.
· Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with OHSA standards.
· Ensure factory walkways, work areas, and emergency exits remain safe and compliant.
· Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required.
· Perform ad-hoc maintenance and repair tasks as required by management.

Job Requirements:
· Matric.
· Qualification in Maintenance/Repairs or related technical field.
· 3–5 years’ experience in a factory or industrial maintenance environment.
· Previous experience in the marble, granite, or quartz manufacturing industry (Non-negotiable).
· Basic computer literacy for maintenance records.
· Basic knowledge of forklift and overhead crane maintenance.
· Sound understanding of health and safety requirements in a factory environment.

Hoof Verantwoordelikhede:
· Uitvoer van roetine dienswerk, inspeksies en klein herstelwerk aan vurkhysers.
· Uitvoer van visuele inspeksies en basiese instandhouding aan oorhoofse hyskrane.
· Bied ondersteuning met voorbereiding vir statutêre inspeksies en Departement van Arbeid oudits.
· Uitvoer van algemene gebou-instandhouding, insluitend dakke, geute, vensters, deure, mure en vloere.
· Instandhouding van loodgieterstelsels en herstel van lekkasies en dreineringsprobleme.
· Uitvoer van basiese elektriese onderhoud (ligte, proppe, skakelaars) binne wettige perke.
· Implementering en opvolg van voorkomende instandhoudingskedules.
· Byhou van dienslogboeke, onderhoudsrekords en kontrolelyste.
· Identifisering van veiligheidsgevare en verseker nakoming van OHSA-vereistes.
· Verseker dat fabriekspaaie, werkareas en nooduitgange veilig en voldoenend bly.
· Kommunikeer met kontrakteurs en eksterne diensverskaffers wanneer nodig.
· Uitvoer van ad-hoc instandhoudingstake soos deur bestuur vereis.

Pos Vereistes:
· Matriek.
· Kwalifikasie in Instandhouding/Herstelwerk of verwante tegniese veld.
· 3–5 jaar ondervinding in ’n fabriek- of industriële onderhoudsomgewing.
· Vorige ondervinding in die marmer-, graniet- of kwartsvervaardigingsbedryf.
· Basiese rekenaarvaardigheid vir instandhoudingsrekords.
· Basiese kennis van vurkhysers en oorhoofse hyskrane se instandhouding.
· Goeie begrip van gesondheids- en veiligheidsvereistes in ’n fabriek.

· Hoë vlak van veiligheidsbewustheid en aandag aan detail.
· Fisies fiks en in staat om handearbeid te verrig.
