Position summary
As Content & Campaign Specialist, you will be integral to executing marketing plans that strengthen the Masthead Group (Masthead and Masthead Financial Planning) brands, drive audience engagement, and expand our market presence. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating across various marketing functions.
This is a full-time, hybrid position, offering the flexibility of working both remotely and from our head office in Mowbray, Cape Town. During the probation period, you will be required to work on-site full-time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Matter Expertise & Content Strategy
- Technical Interpretation: Distil complex financial services legislation, compliance updates, and industry regulations into clear, engaging, and accessible marketing content.
- Content Creation & Copywriting: Develop high-quality content for digital platforms, including social media, email, newsletters and websites, ensuring a professional tone that simplifies technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Content Integrity: Audit and maintain website and marketing materials to ensure they remain accurate and aligned with the latest regulatory standards.
- Brand Communication: Drive brand consistency across all touchpoints to strengthen market presence and brand awareness for the Masthead Group companies.
Campaign Management & Digital Growth
- Integrated Campaigns: Own the end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns across email, digital advertising, and social media to drive lead generation and client retention.
- Digital Channel Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end production of company newsletters and the strategic scheduling of social media content.
- SEO & Paid Media Optimisation: Manage Google Ads while optimising website content to improve organic search rankings and traffic.
- Lead Generation & Nurturing: Implement and manage paid media strategies and email nurturing workflows to convert prospects into clients.
Analytics & Support
- Performance Reporting: Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for all campaigns, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a central marketing resource for regional offices, internal departments, and external vendors to ensure the seamless execution of marketing initiatives.
- Digital Workflow Coordination: Provide guidance and quality oversight to junior assistants to ensure the accurate and timely execution of digital assets and campaign tasks.
Candidate Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
- Certifications in SEO, Google Ads, or social media marketing are advantageous.
Essential technical skills and experience:
- Experience: 3–5 years in marketing, campaign management, or content strategy, preferably within the financial services or regulatory sector.
- Technical Interpretation & Copywriting: Proven ability to distil complex financial legislation and compliance updates into clear, persuasive content for both B2B and B2C audiences.
- Campaign & Project Management: Highly organised in planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns and managing ad-hoc marketing requests from regional offices.
- Digital Proficiency: Hands-on experience in SEO, SEM, social media, and marketing technology (Google Ads, Analytics, and CRMs).
- Stakeholder & Brand Management: Strong interpersonal skills to support regional managers, business unit owners and external vendors while ensuring national brand integrity.
- Performance Analytics: A data-driven approach to tracking campaign performance, lead generation, and ROI to drive strategic improvements.
